"Judy's humor is brilliant, not only because it gets the audience to laugh, but because it gets the audience to think deeply about truths that are often ignored. She puts on a good show, but in addition to that, she packs a powerful message."

“I know of no other entertainer in Canada of such quality who can so effectively bridge the worlds of faith, laughter and hope. Judy is terrific! And appropriate for all audiences."

“Judy is one of those rare individuals who makes God’s grace clear, concise and painlessly discomforting. I laughed and cried in the same breath. She allows us to laugh at our humanness and embrace our need for God, all in the same moment. Judy is a wonderful antidote to humorless Christianity. She is highly recommended.”

Judy Savoy

Hilarious Comedienne, Multi-talented Actress, Effective Speaker, Retreat Leader

Judy Savoy is not only hilarious but she also has a wonderful ability to lead audiences to ponder the deeper things in life with great insight and sensitivity.

Trained as an actor at the Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto, Judy has appeared in numerous theatrical roles, including her highly praised performance as Dorine, in Richard Ouzounian’s TARTUFFE at the Neptune Theatre in Halifax. Before writing and producing her one-woman comedy, Judy applied her training and talents to television, radio and the stage. At one point, as CBC Television’s supper hour Weatherlady in Halifax, Judy made history by becoming the first woman to appear on camera…pregnant...GASP!

Get Me Back To The Garden, I’m Chokin’ On The Weeds

Have you ever wondered what Noah’s wife felt about the whole ark thing? Or what hair stylist Delilah called to cut Samson’s hair? Or what if Jesus went looking for disciples in Newfoundland or the East coast of Maine? Judy has the answers to these and many other often-pondered questions in her one-woman comedy “Get Me Back to the Garden, I’m Chokin’ on the Weeds”.

Judy uses a brilliant mix of standup comedy, some wacky characters (loosely) taken from the Bible, a variety of songs, bits of her own personal story and the message of everyone’s need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The full show runs 80 minutes, but is often tailored to meet the specific needs of a given group.

Judy’s show is wonderfully effective in outreach. Using humor and familiar Bible stories, Judy breaks down barriers for any reluctant attendees, yet the subtle message of God’s desire to have a relationship with each one of us is there to be heard. There are several accounts of people starting to attend church again after seeing Judy’s show; and after a recent show, an eighteen year-old girl who had shown resistance to spiritual matters announced to her mother that she wanted to start reading her Bible again!
